CEDAR FALLS - Ruth A. Call, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.

She was born Dec. 21, 1920, in Dike, daughter of Peter and Dagmar Slifsgard Johnson. She married Gilbert L. Call on May 5, 1944, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls.

Mrs. Call was employed at Bell Telephone Co. from 1937 to 1951.

Survived by: her husband; a son, Lauren (Linda) of Waterloo; three grandchildren, David (Kari) Pierschbacher of Earlville, Jason Pierschbacher of Clarksville, Tenn., and Jay (Kristy) Lowenberg of Kalona; four great-grandchildren, Megan and Ben Pierschbacher, and Gibson and Brock Lowenberg; and two sisters, Helen Kluesner and Hazel Haan, both of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by: her parents; five brothers, Arnold, Melvin, Roy, Roger and Vernon Johnson; and a sister, Hildred Wilson.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery. Public visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.
