WATERLOO — Donalee Cecelia O’Brien, 79, of Waterloo, formerly of LeMars, died Thursday, Dec. 24, at Friendship Village Lakeview Landing.

She was born April 21, 1930, in Hartley, daughter of Lawrence and Ricka Henning LeClair. She married Bill O’Brien on Sept. 1, 1948, in Royal.

Mrs. O’Brien was employed at Spencer Foods, Hartley, for eight years, and retired from Westmar College in 1995 after 18 years.

Survived by: five sons, Joe (Donna) of Waterloo, Tom of Denver, Colo., John (Wendy) of Johnstown, Colo., Tim (Julie) of Aurora, Colo., and Kelly (Mary) of Sanborn; four daughters, Kathleen (Bruce Mosby) O’Brien of Phoenix, Christie (Larry) Sauer of Ankeny, Mary (Mark) Fairchild of Greenville and Theresa (Ron King) O’Brien of Centennial, Colo.; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a sister, Diane Wankum.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at St. James Catholic Church, LeMars, with inurnment at a later date in Spencer. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at the church, where there will be a 5 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. prayer service. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway was in charge of local arrangements.
