CEDAR FALLS - Alfred A. Camarata, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born June 1, 1918, in Cedar Falls, son of Frank and Amelia Nuccio Camarata. He married Vera Koch on Feb. 4, 1940, in Cedar Falls. She died June 12, 2007.

Mr. Camarata served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed with Viking Pump as a machinist in the research and development lab and was past commander of the Dike American Legion Post 471.

Survived by: three sons, Ronald (Terry) of Waverly, Chuck of Waterloo and Steven (Diane) of Cedar Falls; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary. Visitation also for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorial fund: has been established, to be designated at a later date.
