WAVERLY - Irene Marie Givens, 94, formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, Dec. 5, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, Waverly.

She was born Jan. 16, 1915, in Sheffield, daughter of Henry Lee and Lena Timmerman Walters. She married Raymond Givens on July 1, 1935, in Galena, Ill. He died in 1993.

Mrs. Givens worked at St. Francis Hospital, Waterloo, and for a Waterloo nursing home.

Survived by: a daughter, Judy Puga of Readlyn; and a brother, LeRoy (Jenny) Walters of Osage.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Ray and LaVerne Walters; and a sister, Bet Irish.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Monday at the Good Shepherd Chapel of Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, Waverly, with family greeting friends for an hour before. There will be no visitation; her body has been cremated per her request. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, is in charge of arrangements.
