WATERLOO - Mary Lou Cashman, 82, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Dec. 6, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born Aug. 19, 1927, near Winthrop, daughter of Joseph and Hazel Lahey Gaffney. She married Joseph Cashman on July 19, 1946, at St. John's Catholic Church, Waterloo. He died March 30, 1988.

Mrs. Cashman graduated from high school in 1944. She trained and worked as an X-ray technician at Mercy Hospital, Dubuque. She also was an antique dealer for many years.

Survived by: two sons, Thomas (Vicki) of Nevada and Robert of Rockwell City; a brother, Dean Gaffney of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two grandchildren, Jennifer Cashman and Dallas Cashman; five great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Jim Aspinall of Florida; a sister-in-law, Florence Gaffney of Waterloo; and her longtime friend and caregiver, Annette Wagner.

Preceded in death by: her parents; a sister, Burnita Aspinall; and a brother, Lehan (Lee) Gaffney.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial at 1:30 p.m. in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Winthrop. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice in lieu of flowers.
