HUDSON- Mildred M. Poppe, 82, of Hudson died Thursday June 21, at her daughter's home in Independence of cancer.

She was born May 17, 1925, in Chickasaw County, daughter of Fred and Louise Meyer Beier. She married Wayne Poppe December 20, 1945, in Moboro, MD. He died July 9, 1980.

Survived by two daughters, Barbara (Austin) Frey of Waterloo and Beverly Juhl of Independence, three grandchildren; four great granddaughters; a brother, Clarence (Jean) Beier of Waterloo; and a sister, Della (Ray) Bockhaus of Hudson.

Preceded in death by; a son in infancy, Larry Wayne, three brothers, Melvin, Edwin and LaVern, and a sister, Ruth Zmoos.

Services 11 a.m. Monday at St.Timothy Lutheran Church with burial in the Hudson Cemetery. Public visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, where there will be a 3:30 p.m. service by Hudson AMVETS Post 82 Auxiliary.

Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Valley Hospice.
