HERBER, Benjamin H. 1940-2009

Benjamin H. Heber, 69, of Summerville, S.C., husband of Jean Kennedy Heber, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at a Charleston hospital.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, Nov. 28, at Parks Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Dorchester Memory Gardens, Summerville. Friends may call at Parks Funeral Home Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Dolphins Scholarship Foundation, 4966 Euclid Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.

Mr. Heber was born May 13, 1940, in Waterloo, a son of Benjamin Gerald Heber and Arlene Long Heber. He was a retired U.S. Navy veteran and was employed at the Charleston Naval Shipyard, and retired from the Department of Transportation.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Heber of Summerville; two sons, Shannon Heber and David Johnson, both of Summerville; one daughter, Teresa Daniels of Summerville; honorary brother, Mike Emerson of Goose Creek, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Taylor Johnson, Cody Daniels, Grace Johnson, Jakob Moore, Jessen Heber, Chipper Johnson and Katie Beth Johnson.
