CEDAR FALLS - Joseph D.T. "Jody" Corbett, 60, of Colorado Springs, Colo., formerly of Cedar Falls, died Nov. 16 at University of Colorado Hospital, Aurora, Colo., after a lengthy illness.

He was born May 9, 1949, in Marshalltown, son of Dr. Oran and Shirley "Lee" Corbett.

He graduated from Washington High School, Vinton, in 1967, studied at the University of Northern Iowa, and later graduated from the University of Iowa. He worked as a chemical engineer, specializing in water treatment and purification.

Survived by: a son, Tyler of Portland, Ore.; a daughter, Rachel Corbett of New York, N.Y.; his parents of Vinton; a sister, Judith Bauer of Columbus, Wis.; two brothers, Cameron of Grundy Center and Mitchell of Urbandale; and his wife, Nancy.

He was an avid gardener, wood worker and carpenter
