CEDAR FALLS - Mae Helena Roskamp, 88, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, at Memorial Hospital, Chattanooga, Tenn., of cancer.

She was born Feb. 9, 1921, in Hopkinton, daughter of Agnes Jane Calderwood Kenny and Alexander Kenny. On Sept. 5, 1950, she married Harold P. Roskamp. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2006.

She graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in English. She started teaching in a one-room rural school and later taught at East High School in Waterloo for several years.

Mrs. Roskamp was a member of Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church.

Survived by: two daughters, Jane (Stephen) Barnett of Dayton, Tenn., and Sarah (David) Miller of Chattanooga; a son, John (Jinhi) of West Chicago; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Florence Flanagan of Hopkinton.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Wilfred and Alexander Kenny; and a sister, Sade Kirby.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Public visitation 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Home.
