KNUTSON, HOOVEL, GROVES, BEAR

CEDAR FALLS - Dr. Leroy Knutson, 86, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, Nov. 13, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

He was born Dec. 5, 1922, in Jackson, Minn., son of Simon and Selda Hoovel Knutson. He married Norma Mae Groves on March 17, 1944, in Forest City. She died Nov. 8, 2004.

Dr. Knutson served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He attended Waldorf College and graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport. He was a chiropractor in Cedar Falls for 42 years and was a director of the State Board of Chiropractic. He served as past president of the Cedar Falls Rotary Club, was a charter member of Beaver Hills Country Club, and had been soloist, as Humpty Dumpty, in the school operetta in the third grade.

Survived by: two sons, Brian (Lora) of Lake Zurch, Ill., and Mark (Terri) of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren, Aaron (Emily) Knutson, Kimberly (Taylor) Bear, Brent (Kelley) Knutson and Katherine Knutson; and four great-grandchildren, Joseph and Grace Knutson, Dallas and Averie Bear

Preceded in death by: two brothers and three sisters.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with inurnment an hour prior to service time in Greenwood Cemetery. Richardson Funeral Service assisted the family.
