CEDAR FALLS - William G. Scully Jr., 72, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

He was born Feb. 23, 1937, in Waterloo, son of William, Sr. and Virginia Berry Scully. He married Karen Dempewolf on June 11, 1957. She died July 10, 1997.

A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Scully was employed at John Deere for 27 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1993.

Survived by: three sons, Jim (Dana), of Centennial, Colo., Jeffrey of Saco, Maine, and Patrick of Sanford, Maine; a daughter, Laura Scully of Omaha, Neb.; seven grandchildren, Jordan, Abbey, Hannah, Ben, Andrew, Sarah and Samuel Scully; a brother, Tim (Cyn) Scully of Minneapolis; two sisters, Sharon Scully of Cedar Rapids and Patricia (Steve) St. John of Crystal Lake, Ill.; and a sister-in-law, Pam Scully of England.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Michael Scully.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery, Waterloo, where military rites will be conducted by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post 19. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also an hour before services Monday at the church.
