WATERLOO - Bruce "Chip" Prestien, 50, of Lake Ozark, Mo., died Sunday, Nov. 8, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Mo.

He was born Sept. 4, 1959, in Waterloo, son of James and Donna Scott Prestien. He married Naomi Shumard in Illinois, and they later divorced. He married Jolene Inslee on Nov. 14, 1986, in Marion, Ark.

Mr. Prestien graduated from Denver High School, Denver, in 1977, and earned a degree in animal science from Hawkeye Community College. He then worked at ranches in Texas, Montana, Illinois and Missouri. He had operated the North Shore Resort in Lake of the Ozarks since 1987 and had been a substitute teacher at the School of the Osage. He was past president of the Missouri Simmental Association.

Survived by: his wife; four children, Chelsea of Iowa City and Cody, Charli and Cash, all at home; his mother of Lake Ozark; and a sister, Jody (Mike) Pickard.

Preceded in death by: his father; and a brother, Scott.

Services: 6 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Ozark Christian Church, preceded by two hours of visitation. Private burial will be held at a later date. Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: may be directed to American Cancer Society or Chip Prestien Memorial Fund.
