CEDAR FALLS - Margaret F. "Maggie" Stewart, 59, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 4, 1950, in Tillamook, Ore., daughter of Edgar L. and Maxine L. Miller Shelburg. She married Jim Stewart on Dec. 31, 1989, and they later divorced.

Ms. Stewart graduated from cosmetology school in Des Moines and was a cosmetologist with J.C. Penny Co. She later owned and operated a cleaning company, operated Blacks Cafe in the Black's Building, and for a short time was with the Waterloo Center for the Arts. She was currently employed at Maid Rite. She was past chairperson of the Black Hawk County Democratic Party, and served one term on the Black Hawk County Board of Supervisors.

Survived by: three sons, Robert (Lisa) Shelburg of Waterloo, Todd Shelburg of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Eric Davis of Cedar Falls; three brothers, Ronald (Darla) Shelburg of Montrose, S.D., David Shelburg of Yankton, S.D., and John Shelburg; and a niece, Nicholle Jacobi of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: her parents; a brother, Charles Shelburg; and an infant sister, Vicki Shelburg .

Her body has been cremated. A private gathering will occur at a later date. Richardson Funeral Home assisted the family.
