WATERLOO - Dan A. Strebe, 62, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Oct. 4, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born Oct. 28, 1946, in Charles City, son of Melvin and Merna Hartman Strebe. He married Susan M. Alexander on Sept. 7, 1991, in Waterloo.

Mr. Strebe graduated in 1964 from Waterloo West High School and served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He then owned and operated the Jefferson House restaurant in Waterloo, retiring in 2003.

Survived by: his wife; and his mother, Merna (Larry) Johnson of Janesville.

Preceded in death by: his father; stepfather, Walter Keniston; and two stepchildren, Michelle Spande and James Alexander.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace Reformed Church, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
