WATERLOO - Murle E. Ralston, 100, of Granger, formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, Oct. 1, at Kavanagh House on 56th Street, Des Moines, of natural causes.

She was born May 22, 1909, in Waterloo, daughter of David Cloman and Lulu Rachel McCoun Cherry. She married Richard V. Ralston on June 10, 1934, at Central Christian Church, Waterloo. He preceded her in death March 3, 1964.

She had a day nursery in her home for many years, made custom Drapery for homes at Blacks Department Store and worked for a nursery outside her home.

She lived in Waterloo until 1972 then moved to the Des Moines area where she worked at the Overton Family Funeral Home in Indianola.

She was a member of Central Christian Church where she sang in the choir for 25 years, sang at funerals, babysat at the church and was also a member of the King's Daughters.

Survived by: two daughters, Marie Brown of Waterloo and Jo Dene (Rick) Rowedder of Granger; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Waival (Roger) Austin of Waverly.

Preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; a daughter, Joyce Rushton; and two sisters, Genevieve Boderman-Hahn and Blossom Tufts.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Central Christian Church, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, and for an before services Tuesday at the church.
