BLAIR, Wis. - Arlo I. Petersburg, age 92, formerly of Cedar Falls and Blair, Wis., died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at Sterling Regional Medical Center, Sterling, Colo.

Arlo was born April 1, 1917, in Whitehall, Wis., to Thomas and Tena (Tormoen) Toraason. She was baptized on May 6, 1917, and confirmed on May 10, 1931, at Zion Lutheran Church, Blair.

Arlo graduated from Blair High School and worked as a licensed cosmetologist prior to her marriage to Robert Petersburg on Oct. 12, 1940, in Blair. They were married for 56 years until Robert's death in 1997.

Arlo enjoyed her flower gardens, entertaining and decorating, but her greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother.

Arlo is survived by two daughters, Roxanne (Gary) Hetzel of Garland, Texas, and Roberta "Bobbi" (John) Perry of Sterling; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Arlo was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas, and a sister, Joan Warner.

Mom was secure in her faith and salvation and she will be dearly missed by all of us.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Zion Lutheran Church, with burial in the church cemetery, both in Blair. Pastor Christine Hallemeier will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at Jack Funeral Home, Blair, and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.

Memorials may be designated to Zion Lutheran Church, 126 S. Peterson Ave., Blair, WI 54616.
