BROWN, MILLER, HEISLER, PECK, BENSHOFF

William H. Brown, 60, who spent 58 years on a farm in Orange township and whose parents, Mr. and Mrs. Abraham E. Brown, were early settlers of that township, died at 4:15 p.m. Saturday at the home of a son, Glenn D. Brown, 214 Peoria street, of coronary occlusion and paralysis. He had been bedfast for five weeks and in failing health for a year.
Mr. Brown was born Aug. 23, 1879, in Orange. On Dec. 12, 1906, he married Mildred Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elias B. Miller of Orange township. Two years ago Mr. and Mrs. Brown retired from the farm. Since then they had been spending their winters in Texas and their summers in Minnesota.
Mr. Brown had been a member of First Brethren church in Waterloo for 35 years.
Surviving are the widow, five sons and a daughters: Glenn D. Brown, Waterloo;p Dr. Guy C. Brown, Hudson, Ia.; Mrs. Harry Heisler, Route 4; Alvin E. Brown, on the home farm, on the Eagle Center road, and Russell W. Brown and Wayne J. Brown, students in Iowa State college, Ames. Five grandchildren, a brother, John Brown, Davenport, Neb., and a sister, Mrs. J. J. Peck, 272 Hammond avenue, also survive.
A private service will be conducted at the Kearns Garden chapel at 1:30 p. m. Tuesday, and public service will follow at 2 p. m. at First Brethren church, with Rev. W. C. Benshoff, pastor, in charge. Burial will be in Orange township cemetery.
