Grant Miller 85, of 935 Leavitt St., a Pioneer resident of Orange Township, died at 7 p. m. Friday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital.

Death was caused by complications incident to an advanced age as well as complication of injuries suffered in a fall in his home seven weeks ago.

Funeral services have been set for 3 p. m. Tuesday at First Brethren Church. Rev. Spencer Gentle, pastor, will officiate, assisted by Dr. Frank W. Court. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

The body will be taken to the church from Parrott & Wood Funeral Home at 1:30 p. m. Tuesday.

Mr. Miller was born in Somerset, Pa., Dec. 31, 1867, the son of Daniel S. and Mary Miller. He spent his early days in Somerset before coming to the Waterloo area at the age of 15 to live with relatives in Orange Township.

He married Clara M. Sweitzer of Orange Township Sept. 3, 1891. They lived in Orange Township before moving to the Leavitt Street address.

Mr. Miller became associated in 1930 with the Waterloo office of Equitable Life of Iowa, remaining with that organization until retiring two years ago.

He was an active member of First Brethren Church, serving on the building committee which planned the present church structure. He also was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge.

Surviving are the wife; two sons, Ralph E., at home, and Lester w., 435 Prospect Blvd.; one daughter, Mrs. Lulu O’Neill, 1523 Williston Ave.; two brothers, John, McDaniel, Md., and Marling, Uniontown, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Emily Lambet and Mrs. Mary Boose, both of Somerset; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
