Mrs. Barbara Speicher, age 94, died at 12:35 this afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. Libby, 1020 Commercial street. Mrs. Speicher died as the result of a fall three weeks ago, which on account of her age proved fatal.

Barbara Saylor was born in Somerset county, Pennsylvania, on March 12, 1822. Her parents, Barbara and Jacob Saylor, were the parents of ten children, Mrs. Speicher being the last to pass away. Her husband, John Speicher, died fifteen years ago last November. Mrs. Libby is the last surviving child of Mrs. Speicher. Four grandchildren and three great grandchildren survive.

The Speicher family came to Iowa in 1854, residing in the northern part of the state for two years. After residing in Waterloo a short time they moved to Orange township and after many years’ residence came back to the city.
Mrs. Speicher was a staunch member of the Church of the Brethren, from which place the funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. A. P. Blough will be in charge.
