FLOYD SPURGEON

Funeral services were being planned Thursday at Parrott & Wood funeral home for Floyd Spurgeon, 51, of Sherwood Park, who died at 4:30 p.m. at home, Wednesday of carcinoma. He had been ill since last November.

He was born July 9, 1897, at Lake City, Iowa, the son of John and Eliza Spurgeon.

A lifelong resident of Lake City he married Olive Holm there, February 20, 1918.

Six years ago he moved to Waterloo and became an employee of the John Deere Waterloo Tractor works.

A member of the Falls Avenue Wesleyan Methodist church, he is survived by his wife; two sons, Carl and Dorse, Sherwood Park, three brothers, Arthur, Brownsdale, Minnesota, Water, Rose Creek, Minnesota and Williard, Lake City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
