COUNTY RESIDENT FOR 80 YEARS IS DEAD AT AGE OF 92

Widow of H.A. Snyder Had Resided at 317

Jefferson for the Past 65 Years.

Mrs. Frances Snyder, 91, resident of Black Hawk county for 80 years and in the same residence at 317 Jefferson street for 65 years, died at 8:45 p.m. Friday at her home. Death was due to advanced age and complications.

Mrs. Snyder was the widow of H.A. Snyder, who for many years was a member of the county board of supervisors, and who, before his death in 1926, was in the grocery business at the present location of the Wilhams Cigar store.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Snyder were prominent in civic and political affairs in Black Hawk County and Waterloo. Mrs. Snyder's hobby for many years she has been her flower garden, from which she had gathered countless bouquets of flowers for her neighbors and friends.

Frances Celiscia Mishler was Born Aug 18, 1853 at Canton, O., daughter of Christian and Adeline Mishler. The family moved to this county in 1864 from Freeport, Ill.

On Dec 25, 1870, she was married to H.A. Snyder in Waterloo and for a number of years they farmed in Orange township, retiring to Waterloo.

Mrs. Snyder was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Waterloo Woman's club and First Methodist church and its affiliated women's groups.

Surviving are one son, Roger Snyder, San Francisco, Cal., and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hukill and Miss Anna Mishler, both of 426 Vermont Street.

In addition to her husband Mrs. Snyder was preceded in death by one son and two daughters.

The body was taken to Kearns Garden chapel and services will be held after the arrival of the son from California.
