DUNKERTON - Funeral services for George Francis Wellner will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Barclay, with the Rev. Donald P. Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m., Friday at Woods Funeral Home in Fairbank, where there will be a rosary at 7 p.m. and a scripture service at 7:30.
Mr. Wellner, 76, died Wednesday morning, Oct 16, 1996, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of injuries received in a car/semi accident on I-380 near Waterloo, Tuesday, Oct. 15.
He was born. Jan. 13, 1920, in Dunkerton, the son of George and Barbara (Risse) Wellner. Mr. Wellner was a retired farmer and a member of St Francis Catholic Church, Barclay.
Survivors include one sister, Marie Fettkether of Oelwein; one brother, Vincent Wellner of Dunkerton; and 19 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John, Nick and Francis Wellner; and three sisters, Anna Wellner, Barbara Heinze and Hanna Kies.
