DUNKERTON - Funeral services for Pearl E. Weber were held Monday, June 15, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, with the Rev. Gerry Kahler officiating. Burial was in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein.
Mrs. Weber, 92, died Friday, June 12, 1998, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, after a short illness.
She was born Nov. 11, 1905, northeast of Fairbank in Fayette County, the daughter of Martin John and Elizabeth Bearbower Miller. On Oct. 24, 1927, she married Harold Harrison Weber at the Methodist parsonage in Independence. The couple farmed northeast of Dunkerton and then near Littleton, before operating Harold's Tap in Jesup from 1961 to 1973, when Harold preceded her in death. She continued to operate the tavern until retiring in 1977, when she moved to Dunkerton. She was a member
of the United Methodist Church of Dunkerton.
Survivors include one son, Robert of Waterloo; three granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; one brother, Bert; and three sisters, Jesse, Gladys and Edna.
