WATERLOO - Funeral services for Margaretha Katharina Boldt will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at St. John Lutheran Church, Buck Creek, with the Rev. Gerald Melby officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Sumner, and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Mrs. Boldt, 81, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Sept. 13, 1916, in Dayton Township, rural Bremer County, the daughter of August J. and Mary Lamprecht Buhr. She received her education in the parochial school at Buck Creek. On Aug. 27, 1940, she married Walter Boldt in West Union. The couple farmed many years near Buck Creek, then retired and moved to Waterloo. Mrs. Boldt was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Buck Creek.
Survivors include her husband, Walter of Waterloo; one daughter, Carol Korte of Waterloo; two grandsons; two brothers, Les Buhr of Waverly, and Albert Buhr of Waterloo; and three sisters, Ella Buhr of West Union, Elsie Buhr of Oelwein, and Viola Bierman of Waverly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son-in-law, Leon Korte; four brothers, Clarence, Reinhart, Walter and Edwin Buhr; and two sisters, Irma Buchholz and Hilda Meyer.
