Waterloo [IA] Courier, 24 July 1936:

Out of town relatives and friends who attended funeral services Thursday afternoon at the Kistner Chapel for Orrin J. Valentine, 81, of 408 Locust Street, who died Thursday, included Mrs. Rose Valentine, Mason City, a sister-in-law; A. L. Taylor and WIll J. Taylor, Waverly, brothers-in-law; Irene Taylor, Waverly, niece; Mrs. Harold Kristensen, Hudson, niece; Mrs. F. A. Rich, Clear Lake; William Quirk, Dubuque, and Ira L. Foster, Fort Dodge.

Services were conducted by Dr. J. Richmond Morgan, pastor of First Congregational Church. Laurence Hutson sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Face to Face." Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.

Casket bearers were William Waters, E. R. Moore, C. J. Klinefelter, James Cronin, Walter Sanders, and Ira. L. Foster.
