Michael Alan Shellhart, 26, of Vinton, killed in an auto accident sometime early Monday, May 31, 1982, and was pronounced dead on arrival at Virginia Gay Hospital. His father George Shellhart, age 27, was killed in an auto accident near the same location, 20 years ago.

He was born April 17, 1956 to George and Edna Fudge Shellhart at St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Shellhart is survived by his mother, Mrs. Edna Shellhart Winsor of Vinton; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mabel Shellhart Rath of Cole Camp, Mo.; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Fudge of Vinton; three sisters, Mrs. Tom (Joyce) Warner of Cedar Rapids, Miss Carole L. Shellhart of Kansas City, Mo., and Miss Kathryn S. Shellhart of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Charles R. Shellhart of Vinton; one step-sister, Nancy Isbell of Garrison; one step-brother, Tom Winsor of Vinton; one niece, Kati Lyn Warner; one nephew, Justin C. Shellhart.

He was preceded in death by his father; his step-father, Dick Winsor; and his step-brother, Norbert A. Winsor.

Mr. Shellhart was a 1974 graduate of Washington High School, was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Army on October 29, 1981, after serving a three-year enlistment, and was employed by Ervin Motors.
