James William Simpson was the son of Lafe E. and Kathryn Connrady Simpson and died at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, Iowa at the age of 70 years, 3 months, and 22 days.

He attended rural school near Brayton, Iowa and high school in Audubon, Iowa, graduating in 1928. He attended Wentworth Military Academy in Missouri for one year and then farmed most of his life near Brayton. He has lived at an Adel, Iowa nursing home for the past few years.

Survivors include a sister, Ramona Knick, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; a brother, Ted E. Simpson, of Exira, Iowa; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Retired Brayton Farmer Dies

EXIRA. -- James William Simpson, 70, retired Brayton farmer, died Thursday at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry. He had been a resident of a nursing home at Adel for several years.

The son of Lafe E. and Kathryn Connrady Simpson, he was born at Audubon June 10, 1910, and attended rural schools near Brayton and was graduated from the Audubon High School in 1928. He attended Wentworth Military Academy in Missouri for a year and then engaged in farming.

Surviving are a sister, Ramona Kinck of Milwaukee, Wis.; a brother, Ted Simpson of Exira; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Exira Funeral Home, with the Rev. Nancy Jensen of the Federated United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in the Atlantic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
