J. Lohner dies at 75

John N. Lohner, 75, 206 W. Jefferson, died Wednesday, 9 p.m., at Ottumwa Hospital. He had been seriously ill for three weeks.

Lohner was born June 1, 1903 at Exira, the son of John T. and Sena Beck Lohner. He married Florence Farmer Dec. 25, 1929. A resident of the Fairfield community for 33 years, he was a school teacher for 15 years and a salesman for Hillyard Chemical Company more than 27 years before retiring in 1970. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Clinton Lodge 15 and the Keep Young Club.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Junior Lohner of Des Moines; three grandsons; two sisters, Ethel Jacobson of Alexandria, Ark., Annette Johnson of Beardon, Ark., and one brother, Donald B. Lohner of Sioux City.

Services will be Saturday, 2 p.m., at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Wilken officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery with Masonic rites. Visitation will be Friday, 7 to 8 p.m., at Behner Funeral Home.
