BOY KILLED WHEN
CAR TURNS OVER

--------
Lad, on Way to Sunday
School, Instantly Killed
in Auto Accident

--------

Alvin Sorensen, aged 11, was
killed Sunday when the automo-
bile in which he and his brother
were riding to Sunday school
turned over.

Raymond, the fourteen-year-old
brother who was driving the car
does not know how the accident
happened. Death was instantaneous,
the boy's head being fearfully
crushed and his face badly
cut.

Alvin Harold Sorensen was born
August 17th, 1909. He was the
youngest son of Mr. and Mrs.
Soren C. Sorensen, residing on a
farm five and one-half miles southeast
of Exira. He was baptized in
the Danish Lutheran church west
of Exira, and has received religious
instruction in the Sunday schools
near his home.

He was a kind and unselfish boy,
a joy to his parents, a good little
brother, and a promising character
for the blessing of the community.
May his soul rest in peace.

Those bereaved and left to
mourn his death are his parents
and his three older, brothers, Andrew,
Harvey and Raymond, besides
a number of other relatives
and a host of friends. May the
faith in Jesus Christ comfort them!

The funeral took place in the
Danish Lutheran church at Exira,
Rev. Jensen officiating. A very
large crowd was in attendance at
the ceremony. The remains were
laid to rest in the Exira cemetery.

Note: Parents of Elvin Harold Sorensen were Soren Christian "Chris" Sorensen and Carrie Masier Hanson.
