EXIRA DEPARTMENT

Word was received here last night
that Sam Howlett's baby fell and
ran a spike into the back of its
head, at the base of the brain, for
about two inches from which clots
of blood continue to issue, and
fears are entertained of its recovery.
Mr. Howlett lives in Benton township,
about twelve miles away.--
