THREE DAUGHTERS
HAVE PASSED AWAY

--------

Our little city was saddened last
Thursday when the bodies of two
daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Warren
Rummelhart of Lane, South Dakota,
were brought here for burial.
The two young ladies had been
sick but a short time.

Cecil Gladys, eldest daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Warren Rumelhart,
was born in Guthrie County, Iowa,
March 28, 1904. About three years
ago her parents moved to Lane,
South Dakota to make their home.
Cecil was a sweet, lovable girl and
endeared herself to all who knew
her and will be greatly missed by
her girlhood companions. Just as
her life was blossoming into young
womanhood and the higher duties
of life, she was stricken with the
dread disease "flu" and died February
28, 1919, at the age of fourteen
years and eleven months. All that
loving hands could do was of no
avail, Jesus called and as an obedi-
ent child she, gladly answered the
summons to be with him forevermore.

Ilene lone, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Warren Rumelhart, of Lane,
South Dakota was born in Audubon
County, Iowa, December 13th,
1909, near Exira, where she spent
her babyhood days. She was a
bright, sweet child and her childish
prattle brought a smile to everyone.
She, like her sister, was ill
with the flu and three days after
her sister's death, March 3, 1919,
Jesus called the second time in the
home and said "Suffer the little
children to come unto me, for of
such is the kingdom of heaven."
Ilene was nine years, two months
and twenty days of age when she
died. A home, was made bright
with her sweet ways and it is with
saddened hearts that they must go
on with the cares of life without her.

The bodies were taken to the
home of the grand-mother, Mrs.
Wm. VanAernam, where the funeral
services were held Saturday afternoon
at one o'clock, conducted
by Rev. Matson. Interment was
made in the Exira cemetery.

Valeta, the twelve year old daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Rumhart
passed away, Monday, of the
same disease, which caused her
two sisters' deaths. The body is
expected to arrive her today for
burial. Funeral services will be held
Saturday afternoon at one o'clock
at the home of Mrs. Wm VanAernam.
Obituary next week.

Our hearts go out to the stricken
family in their bereavement. The
sympathy of the entire community
many of whom are old friends, is
extended.

Note: Parents of Cecil Gladys Rumelhart were Warren Arthur Rumelhart and Flora Ett Vanaernam.
