RUN OVER BY THRESHER
INSTANTLY KILLED

-------

A terrible accident occur(r)ed Friday
evening on the Kline farm, ten
miles north of Adair in Audubon
county, when the 14-year old son of
Elmer Baird of Adair was killed
by a threshing machine.

The boy was climbing over the
machine and is it supposed that he
slipped and fell while riding on
the tongue of the machine and the
wheels of the separator passed over
his neck causing death in a very
short time. His father and broth-
er were operating the machine at
the time of the accident.

Note: Parents of Clyde Roy Baird were Elmer Ellsworth Baird and Olive Aletha Mathies. I'm pretty sure the "Kline farm" was Frederick Grant "Fred" Kline in Audubon township.
