Exira Wednesday For
Mrs. Cecelia McNally

Mrs. Cecelia Tharnish McNally
died unexpectedly at Wiggins,
Colorado, Saturday. Death was at-
tributed to a stroke of apoplexy.

The body arrived here Tuesday
and funeral services were held
Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock
at Holy Trinity Catholic church
with the Rev. Fr. William Melville
officiating. Burial was in the Ex-
ira Catholic cemetery.

She was born March 29, 1884, in
Exira, the daughter of Peter and
Mary Tharnish. She grew to wo-
manhood here, and for several
years conducted a variety store
here. Later she was engaged in
business at Jefferson and Wiota,
before going to Colorado.

She is survived by two brothers,
John of Auburn and Peter of Des
Moines, and two sisters, Mrs. Kate
South of Indianapolis, Indiana, and
Mrs. Anna Kommes of LeMars,
Iowa. Bernie and Jake Thielen,
Mrs. Cecelia Wolf and Mrs. Clara
Rasmussen are nephews and nieces
who live here.

Out-of-town people who were
here to attend the funeral service
were Pete Tharnish and daughters,
Margaret and Rose, and Mrs. Ben
Sempkeer of Des Moines; Pete
South of Indianopolis, Ind., and
John Tharnish of Auburn.

Note: Parents of Cecelia M. "Celia" Tharnish were Peter Tharnish and Anne Mary Arendt. She was married to John J. McNally (1870-1948).
