Robert Meyer
dies suddenly
on Saturday

Funeral services were held
Tuesday afternoon at the Ex-
ira Christian church for Rob-
ert Meyer, of Ft. Dodge, for-
mer Exira resident.

Rev. Lester Pearson officiat-
ed and burial was in the Ex-
ira cemetery.

Mr. Meyer died suddenly
Saturday morning from an
embolism. He had been hos-
pitalized at the Lutheran hos-
pital at Ft. Dodge since Mon-
day where he was taken after
he had fallen at his work
when a ladder slipped, suffer-
ing a fracture of the pelvic
bone.

Robert Rudolph Meyer was
born in Audubon township,
May 13, 1899. He was the son
of George J. and Anna M. Ja-
cobsen Meyer. He attended
the rural schools of the com-
munity and on Nov. 28, 1928
married Vivienne Minerman,
who with their two children
survive. They are Robert E.
Meyer of LaGrange, Ill. and
Mrs. Dixie Ford of Ft. Dodge.
Also four grandchildren and
his aged mother, Mrs. Anna
Meyer of Exira.

Surviving brothers are Wal-
ter and John of Exira, and
Earl of ___nwood, Calif., and
three sisters, Mrs. Ralph Tib-
ben of Exira, Mrs. Albert Pet-
ersen of Atlantic and Mrs.
Madge Benton of Gray. The
Meyer family made their
home in Exira where he was
employed with the Exira
Creamery company until mov-
ing to Ft. Dodge in 1945.

He was employed with the
Ft. Dodge Dairy for a period
of time and at the present time
held a position with the city.

Note: Parents were George Jacob Meyer and Anna Dorthea Jacobsen.
