OBITUARY
Maria Elisabeth Ziebul Kienapfel was born the 31st day of December, 1885(1855) at Hagenau East Prussia, Germany. She passed away at the Hans Johnson Nursing home at Audubon, Iowa on September 8, 1951 at the age of 95 years, 8 months and 28 days. She was united in marrige to Christian Ferdinand Kienapfel on January 15, 1880, and after three years they moved to America. They moved to Atlantic, Iowa for nine years, after which they moved to a farm near Ross. In 1908 they moved to Ross where they both resided for many years. Mr. Kienapfel passed away March 10, 1930, and Mrs. Kienapfel lived alone until July 7, 1950 when she spent the closing days of her life in the Hans Johnson Nursing Home. Mrs. Kienapfel received her religious education in Germany in the Evangelical church. During the pastorate of the Rev. Clinton Smith, at Ross, both Mr. and Mrs. Kienapfel were converted and joined the church at Ross. As long as her health permitted she was a regular attendant at all the church services and the Bible and hymn book were her daily companions and comfort in the home. Last rites were held at the Calvary Evangelical United Brethren Church at Ross on Monday, September 10, with the Rev. Waldo E. Hahn officiating, and interment was in the Audubon cemetery.
