R. W. Beeson, attorney for Sen-
ator Jones in his sensational slander
suit against Wilkerson, the detect-
ive in the Villisca ax murders, com-
mitted suicide at his home in Red
Oak Monday by sending a bullet
through his brain. He was also an
attorney for Bert McCaul who was
under indictment for perjury in
connection with his evidence in the
ax murder case. Mr. Beeson was
65(73) years old and has been practic-
ing law for nearly fifty years, the
most of the time in Red Oak.

Note: Ruel W. Beeson's parents were Jehu Beeson and Mary Johnson. He was married to Emma L. Grove.
