Son of George Schlater
Brought Here for Burial

--------

Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Thomas ar-
rived here Sunday from Texas with
the body of Donald Thomas Schla-
ter, the four-year-old son of George
Schlater, who had passed away
Wednesday, January 12th after an
illness of only five days with in-
testinal poisoning.

The little lad was born June 25,
1917, and shortly after the mother,
who was formerly Miss Florence
Thomas passed away. The baby
was adopted by its grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Thomas, who
moved to Colorado sometime ago.
They had just recently gone to
Texas for a visit, where the child
took sick and passed away. Be-
sides other relatives, two older
brothers are left to mourn.

The funeral services were held
in the Christian church Monday
afternoon, conducted by Rev.
Rasmussen. The body was laid
to rest beside the mother in the
Exira cemetery.
