DIED SATURDAY

MRS. O. F. IDE PASSED AWAY
AT THE ATLANTIC HOSPITAL
FOLLOWING OPERATION

Mrs. Sarah E. Ide, wife of Owen F.
Ide, long time resident of this part
of Iowa, where she came as girl in
1876, died at 6:30 o'clock on Saturday
morning, December 15, at the Atlan-
tic hospital. Death came as the re-
sult of complications following an
operation some days ago. She would
have been fifty-five years of age on
the 20th day of this month.

Mrs. Ide was born in this state De-
cember 20, 1868, being the daughter
of George E. Cotton and wife. Her
father located at Oakfield in 1876,
and for years was a miller at Lewis,
Panora and Oakfield.

Mrs. Ide was married on the 24th
day of December, 1885, to Mr. Ide,
who with four children, survive her.
The children are Charles E. Ide of
Brooklyn, New York; Mrs. F. M. Alex-
ander of Hudson, South Dakota; Mrs.
S. R. Anderson of Brayton, and Mrs.
Axel Mortensen of Brayton. She also
leaves seven grandchildren, as well as
four brothers, W. E. Cotton of Wash-
ington, D. C.; Ernest Cotton of Mia-
mi, Florida; G. E. Cotton of Winthrop,
Washington and Chas. Cotton of
Newton, Iowa. There are also two
sisters surviving, Mrs. Mary Bacon,
of Hemmingford, Neb. and Mrs. Leila
Benson of Randolph, Neb.

Mrs. Ide many years ago became
connected with the Baptist church at
Brayton, and was an active and con-
sistent member of the same at the
time of her death.

The funeral services were conduct-
ed from the Brayton Baptist church
on Sunday afternoon, December 17,
the Rev. J. E. Ball of the Congrega-
tional church at Atlantic, officiating.
Interment was made in the Oakfield
cemetery.
