Final Rites For
Thomas Crees
Held Sunday

Father Of Exira People
Died Last Thursday Fol-
lowing A Long Illness

Funeral services were held Sun-
day afternoon at 2 o'clock for
Thomas M. Crees, well known re-
tired Audubon county farmer who
died last Thursday at the home of
his son, Wayne Crees, in Audubon.
Mr. Crees has been ill about a
year and had been bedfast several
weeks prior to his death. The Rev.
E. M. Beuhler had charge of the
funeral services and burial was in
the Maple Grove cemetery at Au-
dubon.

Born at West Liberty on August
20, 1875, he had resided in this
county since he was eight years
old. He was married to Miss
Amanda Keighly on February 20,
1897, and they farmed near Au-
dubon until her death on October
15, 1931, when he moved to Audu-
bon to make his home.

Surviving are nine children:
Mrs. John Schwab of Viola town-
ship; James of Audubon; Mrs.
Ralph Flynn of Guthrie Center;
Milton of Exira; Daniel of Adair;
Mrs. Albert Signall of Gray;
Wayne of Audubon; Mrs. Lewis
Roberts of Des Moines, and Mrs.
Gordon Bills of Exira. There are
20 grandchildren.

Two sisters, Mrs. W. B. Young
of Lake View and Mrs. Thomas
White of Correctionville, and a
brother, C. W. Crees, of Coon
Rapids, also survive.
