Funeral services were conducted
last Thursday afternoon at the Anita
Congegrational church for Cleve
land Ellsworth Parker, who died
Oct. 20 at Atlantic Memorial hos-
pigal, following a short illness.Mr. Parker was born July 19, 1888,
near Anita, the son of the late B. F.
and Hannah Akers Parker, and was
married Sept. 22, 1909, to Miss Mag-
gie Selby of Adair. For ten years
the couple lived on a farm north of
Anita, and in 1920 moved to the
farm just north of Anita where they
were residing at the time of Mr.
Parker's death.Mr. Parker served as a member of
Grant township school board for 24
years and was Past Chancellor of
the Knights of Pythias lodge. He was
sale clerk in this area for 44 years
and did not miss a sale he was
scheduled to clerk until a week be-
for his death.Surviving with his widow are
four children, Odetta Rendleman of
Exira, Roy of south of Anita, Ger-
aldine Darr of Ankeny, and Ruth
Remien of Beresford, S.D.; 13 grand-
children, Douglas, Margaret, Mary
Joyce, Catherine, and Neal Rendle-
man, Dennis, Martha, and David
Darr, Judith, Jane na(an)d Betty Par-
ker, and Ann and Jack Remien; two
sisters, Mrs. C. D. Mattheis and Mrs.
Goldie Wilson of Anita; and two
brothers, Bryan of Atlantic and
Lafe of Los Angeles.Funeral services were conducted
by Rev. James Angell, pastor of the
First Presbyterian church of In-
dianola, nephew of the late Mr. Par-
ker.Pallbearers were the son, three
sons-in-law, and two nephews: Roy
Parker, John Remien, Joe Darr,
Raymond Rendleman, Billy Parker,
and Reid Wilson.Sid Larsen sang two solos, accom-
panied by Mrs. Raymond Lantz.
Burial was in Evergreen cemetery (Anita).
