Florence Marie Petri
Passes Away

Death claimed a cherished little
blossom Tuesday of last week when
Florence Marie, twelve years of
age, second daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. John Petri, of east of Exira,
passed away after a long, severe
illness.

Falling from a cherry tree last
summer, the little girl suffered in-
juries which later developed into
cancer of the bone, making it
necessary to amputate one of her
limbs. After the removal of the
member she seemed to improve for
a time, but the disease had entered
her system and could not be con-
quered.

During the last few months of
her life she suffered excruciating
pain but she bore up bravely
and, through it all, was so patient
and sweet that she commanded
the love of all who came in con-
tact with her.

Funeral services were held at the
German Lutheran church east of
town, and the remains were laid to
rest in the Schwenneker cemetery.
Rev. Deletzke performed the
obsequies.

dered aid during the illness and
death of our darling daughter, and
for the profusion of beautiful
flowers, we extend thanks.
