Farmer Passes

Soren P. Daugaard, 74, prominent
retired Brayton farmer, resident of
this community for fifty years and a
native of Denmark, passed away at
9:30 last night at his home in Bray-
ton following an illness which ex-
tended over a period of four months.
He had been bedfast for the last ten
days.

Mr. Daugaard was born at Bjert,
Denmark, on May 19, 1857, and was
united in marriage there to Miss
Anna Koos on June 5, 1880. The
following year they came to the
United States and located on a farm
near Brayton, residing there until
sixteen years ago when they moved
into Brayton, having made their
home there since.

Surviving besides his wife are five
sons and four daughters, Chris of
Lemon, S. D., John of Mercer, N. D.,
Fred and Theodore of Brayton, Hen-
ry of Atlantic, Mrs. John C. Larsen
and Mrs. Einar Hansen of Brayton
and Mrs. Nels Hansen and Mrs.
Leon Baumgardner of Exira. One
half-brother, Hans Ingvey of North
Dakota, four sisters, Mrs. Ebbe Han-
sen of Harlan, Mrs. Alfred Miller of
Exira, Mrs. Hans Rattenborg of
Council Bluffs and Mrs. Dorothy Jo-
hansen of Denmark, and sixteen
grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Fri-
day afternoon at 2:30 at the Oakhill
church conducted by the Rev. Hen-
rik Plambeck. Burial will be in Oak-
hill cemetery.
