WEEL KNOWN AUDUBON
COUNTY MAN IS DEAD----------
John H. Crees, Sr., a resident of
the county for forty years and well
known, passed away at his home in
Audubon Tuesday afternoon. Death
was due to heart trouble from which
Mr. Crees had suffered for several
months.John Crees was born in Attalissa,
Iowa, March 9, 1868. When but a
child he moved with his parents to
Cass county, coming to this county in
1885. He was united in marriage to
Lenore Herrick in November, 1891.
To this union seven children were born,
who, with the wife survive. They are
Mrs. Earl Twist, Hamlin; Mrs. Frank
Tibben, Anita; Mrs. Chas. Stanley,
Petersen; John and Ralph Crees, Au-
dubon; Herbert Crees, Huron, S. D.,
Mrs. Henry Lauridsen, Hamlin. He
is also survived by fifteen grandchil-
dren and four brothers and three sis-
ters. The brothers and sisters are:
W. M. Crees, Exira; A. H. Crees, of
Greenfield, T. M. Crees, Audubon, C.
W. Crees, Bayard; Mrs. W. D. Young,
Lake View; Mrs. Clara Percy, Mason
City; Mrs. T. C. White, Anthon.Funeral services will be held at two
o'clock today at the Methodist church
in Audubon and burial will be made
in Maple Grove cemetery.
