OBITUARY

JACOB F. THOMAS

Jacob F. Thomas, son of Isaac and
Mary Thomas, was born in Audubon
county on October 14, 1866, and was
the fourth child in a family of eleven
children. He grew to manhood in this
county, later moving to Bainveille,
Montana, where he followed farming.

He was married in 1912 and his wife
passed away in 1920. His father and
mother, two sisters and three brothers
preceded him in death.

Mr. Thomas was a dutiful son, a
kind and loving brother. He had a
kind word for all he met, and a help-
ing hand for the needy ones. He was
compelled to return to Fontanelle,
from Montana, because of sickness
from which he did not recover and
he passed away on April 28, 1926,
at the age of fifty-nine years, six
months and fourteen days.

The deceased is survived by M. D.
Thomas, Cedaredege, Colo.; Mrs. Bell
Bloom, Bridgewater; N. A. Thomas,
Gault, Calif.; Rosa Huff, Fontanelle
and Bessie Trufield.

Funeral services were conducted by
Rev. Robert N. Chord from the Ham-
lin school house on April 30, at 1:30
o'clock p. m. Burial was in Bowen
cemetery where the parents and other
relatives of the deceased were laid
to rest.

Note: Jacob Thomas' mother was Mary Margaret (Hamlin) Thomas (1841-1910), daughter of Nathaniel Hamlin, pioneer settler of Audubon county.
