YOUNG LAD IS VICTIM
OF SUMMER FLU

----------
Twelve-Year-Old Boy Dies After A
Short Illness. Funeral Services
Were Held Monday

---------

Arnold August Kyndesen, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Miller Kyndesen, who
reside nine miles southeast of Exira,
passed away Saturday morning, Sep-
tember 19th, following a short illness
with "summer flu." Funeral services
were held Monday at the home at 11
o'clock and at the Danish Lutheran
church in this city at 12:30, Rev. P.
C. Jensen officiating. Interment was
in the Audubon cemetery.

The deceased lad was born March
19, 1913. He was the oldest child and
only son of Mr. and Mrs. Kyndesen.
Besides the parents he is survived by
two sisters, Ella, 11 years of age, and
Eva, four years old, who deeply mourn
his loss.

As we always select the most pre-
cious flowers so also God, our Heav-
enly Father, seems to choose those
for an early homecoming who have
most of the heavenly traits of char-
acter. Arnold was an exceptionally
good and willing boy, the pride of his
parents and the joy of his sisters, as
well as a chum to all around. Our
deep sympathy is with the bereaved.
We can only help to wipe their tears
and direct their sorrow to Him who
gave His only begotten Son into death
by His own free will, in order that we
may be saved from death through
Him.

Little Arnold was baptized in the
Lutheran church at Hamlin when an
infant. As such we know he is heir
to the kingdom of Christ Jesus. He
grew up in his parental home, first
near Audubon, later near Exira and
Brayton.

Three weeks ago he was taken sud-
denly ill by the prevalent "summer
flu" and although the best of medical
skill was engaged to stay the disease,
his young nature was unable to ward
off the grim fiend of creation. Re-
joicing in the bright prospects of the
life in the presence of Jesus he passed
away peaceably, Saturday noon, Sep-
tember 19th.

May his soul find rest beyond the
river.
