Mrs. Rebecca Blake Died Here Sunday. Audubon,Iowa
Had been Critically Ill for Three weeks; long Time Resident
Mrs. Rebecca Blake, widow of the late James Blake and a resident of Audubon for many years, died Sunday at about 11:30 a.m. at her home in the this city. She had been bedfast for about three weeks, and hopes for her recovery had been abandoned several days prior to her death, when her children were summoned to her bedside. She was 68 years old.
Mrs. Blake, whose maiden name was Rebecca Lois KinKennon, was born in Madison County,Iowa on July 9,1862. She grew to young womanhood there, and was married to James Blake on New Years day,1880.
Here Many YearsSince their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Blake had resided in Audubon county most of the time. Following her husband's death, Mrs. Blake had continued to make her home here.
Surviving are two daughters and two sons. The daughters are Mrs. James Nelson, Albert, Canada; Mrs. Phillip Burkhardt, Guthrie Center; Thomas Blake, Saskatchewan, Canda and James Blake, at home. Three daughters are dead.
Services Tuesday
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian church, the Rev. W.Z. Allen officiating. Burial took place at Arlington Heights cemetery
