Aged Lady Dies at Sanitarium in
Seattle. Lived in This County
For Many Years

Word comes to us of the death of
Mrs. Jane Mills Gates at the Roanoke
sanitarium, Seattle, Washington, on
Tuesday, Mar 3.

Mrs. Gates will be remembered by
the older residents of the county as
the family maintained a home here
for some thirty years, prior to 1903,
when Mr. and Mrs. Gates moved to
Kalispell, Montana. From Kalispell,
they went to West Palm Beach, Fla.,
where they made their home with
their daughter, Caroline, until in 1921
they returned to Kalispell. From Kal-
ispell they went to Seattle in 1923.

Mrs. Gates was 82 years of age on
November 26th last. She is survived
by her husband J. G. Gates, and five
children, who are: J. A. Gates of
Chicago, Illinois; Mrs. C. L. Pattison
of Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Caroline E.
Rooney of Miami, Fla.; Mrs. Robert
Pauline and Mrs. M. B. Dodge of
Kalispell, Mont. One brother, M. A.
Mills, of Somers, Montana, also sur-
vives. A son, C. F. Gates passed
on in West Palm Beach, Fla., in 1913.

She is buried from the chapel of
the University Undertaking Parlors
of Seattle under the auspices of the
Christian Science church, Mrs. Ella
Hensley conducting the service. The
pall bearers were Perry Hensley, Will
Anders, Marion and Merrill Pattison
(all former residents of Exira) Will
and Sam Rogers.

3. Elizabeth Ann CUMMINGS was born 3 DEC 1820 in Bovina, Delaware, N.Y., and died 20 JUN 1852 in Clarendon, Calhoun, Mich.. She was buried in Cooks Prairie Cem., Homer, Calhoun, Mich.. She was the daughter of 6. Daniel CUMMINGS and 7. Hannah DOOLITTLE.
