ASA N. HORTON

Asa N. Horton, fourth son of A. ?.
and Sarah Jane Horton, was born
January 17th, 1865 at Monroe, Ia. He
came to Audubon county with his par-
ents in 1880 locating on a farm 3 miles
northwest of Brayton where he spent
many years, and about ten years ago
he with his brother, Milton, moved to
Pacific Junction, Iowa, where he con-
tinued to reside until his death. He
passed away at the Mercy hospital in
Council Bluffs, Monday, Nov. 3, 1924,
following a year's illness and the last
few days of this illness he was cared
for at the hospital where he was given
every attention.

Deceased was a dutiful son and
brother. He was of a generous na-
ture and was always ready to give
any assistance within his power to
give. He lived to be 59 years, 9
months and 17 days old.

To mourn his loss are six brothers
and two sisters as follows: Wm. H.,
Springview, Neb.; Jas. A. and Ellis E.
at Burton, Neb.; V. T. of Gregory, So.
Dak.; Geo. D. at Dallas, So. Dak.; Mil-
ton at Pacific Junction, Ia.; Mrs. Caro-
line Summey of Elk Point, So. Dak.,
and Mrs. Marinus Jensen, of Brayton,
Iowa.

The remains were brought to Bray-
Funeral service was held in the Bap-
tist church at 2 o'clock in the after-
noon, being conducted by Rev. Rust
of the Baptist church and interment
was made in the Oakfield cemetery.

shown them in their time of bereav-
ment.

Those present from a distance at
the funeral services were Mr. and
Mrs. Milton Horton and daughter,
Rachel Jane? of Pacific Junction;
Miss Sarah Horton of Anita; Mr. and
Mrs. Ed Weatherby and son, Clyde, of
Anita; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wayne,
of Shelby, Iowa.
