POPULAR YOUNG COUPLE
MARRIED IN DES MOINES

On Wednesday, June 2, at eleven
o'clock, the marriage of Miss Joy
Ridgley (1905-1993), daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
F. W. Ridgley, and Bernard Meurer (1903-1991),
son of Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Meurer,
took place. The ceremony was per-
formed in the Urbandale Federated
church, Des Moines with Rev. Rash
officiating. Attendants were Miss El-
lowene May (1905-1981) and Donald Meurer (1900-1967), a
brother of the groom, both of Des
Moines.

Mrs. Meurer is a graduate of the
Exira high school and Des Moines uni-
versity, and is a member of the Thau Phi
Xi sorority. Mr. Meurer also gradu-
ated from the Exira high school and
attended Iowa State college two years,
where he was a member of the Lambda
Delta Chi fraternity. He is now the
junior member of the firm of Tharn-
ish & Meurer of this place.

Following the ceremony a luncheon
was served at the Younker tea room.
The young couple have gone on a
motor trip to Yellowstone Park and
Salt Lake City. After July first Mr.
and Mrs. Meurer will be at home in
Exira.

Note: Joy Rena Ridgley was the daughter of Francis William "Will" Ridgley (1871-1939) and Winifred Faith "Went" Martin (1879-1977). Bernard Leroy "Doc" or "B. L." Meurer was the son of Frank Anthony Meurer (1871-1946) and Jennie Etta May (1877-1949).
