DAUGHTER OF FORMER
EXIRA PEOPLE IS HONORED

The Spokane (Washington) Daily
Chronicle, under date of Friday, May
21, carried the following article:

"Miss Lenore Martin, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Martin, E3611
Second avenue, has been elected to
membership in Phi Beta Kappa, na-
tional honorary scholastic fraternity,
from the Whitman college chapter,
according to word received by her
parents today. Miss Martin is finish-
ing her junior year at Whitman,
where she is majoring in mathematics
and languages.

"Election to Phi Beta Kappa is one
of the highest honors that can come
to an undergraduate student at any
university or college. Miss Martin
was valedictorian of the June, 1923,
graduating class of the Lewis and
Clark high school, and at that time
won a scholarship to Whitman col-
lege."

Miss Martin was born near Exira
and has many relatives and friends
here who will be glad to learn of the
honor which she has won because of
her brilliant scholastic work.
